About Antonios
Antonios Antonopoulos trained at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, graduating in 2020, and spent time working as a general dentist in Greece before making the decision to move to Edinburgh. He joined the Newkirkgate team in November 2022 and has, in the time since, become a valued member of the clinical team with a growing reputation for his work in cosmetic dentistry.
Antonios believes that the best dental appointments begin before any instrument is picked up. He is a careful listener, genuinely interested in what each patient is hoping to achieve, and he takes the time at the start of every appointment to make sure he fully understands the person in front of him before forming a clinical plan. Patients describe him as warm, easy to talk to and refreshingly direct, the kind of dentist who gives you an honest answer rather than a diplomatic one.
His particular passion is cosmetic dentistry, specifically helping patients who have felt self-conscious about their teeth regain confidence in their smile. Whether that is through composite bonding, whitening, a planned smile makeover or simply a careful restorative approach that pays attention to aesthetics as well as function, he brings a considered eye to the appearance of every case he treats.
He brings to Newkirkgate a combination of classical dental training and a genuine enthusiasm for the patient relationship. He is not the kind of dentist who wants to get through the list. He is the kind who wants to do each appointment properly.

Cosmetic Dentistry
Antonios has a particular interest in cosmetic dental treatments including composite bonding, whitening, veneers and smile design. He takes a careful, measured approach to cosmetic cases, ensuring the result is appropriate for the individual rather than following a formula.
Patient-Centred Care
His approach to every appointment is to understand the patient's goals before planning treatment. This means appointments with Antonios tend to feel collaborative rather than one-directional, the patient is a participant in the plan, not a passive recipient of it.
Restorative Dentistry
Alongside his cosmetic interest, Antonios has a strong foundation in restorative dentistry, applying the same attention to aesthetics and detail that runs through his cosmetic work to routine restorative cases.
Outside Dentistry
Outside the practice Antonios enjoys travelling, watching films, playing football and playing the guitar. Having relocated from Greece to Edinburgh, he has taken to Scottish life with the same enthusiasm he brings to his clinical work. He is still working on persuading himself that Scottish weather is a feature rather than a bug.
